Live Your Day With Depression

Author: Justin Meyer

Sometimes the hardest thing to do when you are depressed is to get out of bed. It's very easy to stay in bed and not do anything, but the first step to getting better is to get out of bed. Why is this important? Staying in bed is a very easy way to exacerbate the condition. Inactivity does nothing to stimulate your mind and you will find that you might start to get more depressed as you get annoyed with your inactivity.

The first thing to do is move into the kitchen and eat something healthy. Cereal or some fruit would be a good start. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day; it may be clich but it is true in this case. It gets you started on your day, and sets the tone as well as your energy level.

After breakfast, find something to do. Read a book, write a poem. Don't watch TV. What is important is to find something that is actively engaging. If you can go out, do that. Go to the library, or the book store, find someplace where you can do something. Again, actively engage your mind, because if it is not used, you might find yourself slipping into a deeper depression.

It is very important that you make sure that you are eating healthy foods during the day. That will keep your energy level up as well as ensure that you are getting the nutrients that you need. This is important, as bad nutrition can sometimes cause you to be sluggish, which will cause depression symptoms to get worse.
